Friends-Together 2018 Relief Trip
  • Reusable sanitary pads distributed to 1,500+ women
  • Friends-Together opened their first stand alone clinic for women and families infected and affected by HIV that they work with in the Pasua area. The clinic is currently seeing patients when our volunteers are not in the region once a month. Patients are provided with medicines they need as well as beans, rice and oil. 
  • Friends-Together officially dedicated a new tailoring  building and began construction on a second building for advanced students.
  • Friends-Together finished construction of our Primary 5 classroom at the Minesota Primary School and have begun construction of Primary 6.
  • Friends-Together partnered with Zara Charities and provided shoes for the 98 students in their new primary school. We also purchased the solar batteries to allow their solar system to become operational.
  • Provided text books for the Minnesota Primary School and Massai school.
  • Provided teacher and school supplies for 18 teachers.
  • Constructed a full playground for the Massai school and added equipment to the Minnesota school playground.
  • Held 9 educational events with the women throughout the Kilimanjaro, Arusha, and Pangani regions.
  • Conducted home visits in Pasua and Arusha.
  • Delivered 45 portable solar lights to HIV affected families.
  • Donated 80 pounds of medical and first aid supplies to the Porters’ Society.
